At a local neighborhood event, Spycom met a prospective client who had a unique project and was in the process of renovating her 18th-century farmhouse. Initially built in 1750, the stone house had a sturdy building foundation, but little modern convenience to offer.
It was up to Spycom to add all of the technology features the customer desired, without interfering with her unique stylistic preferences and the residence’s historic value. Providing a comfortable control solution to her for contractors and guests to come and go freely was top priority. Over the length of the 18-month project, we took time to ensure she had the best solution for her needs.

When considering a home lighting control system, it’s easy to focus on overhead fixtures and keypads. But being able to capitalize on the natural light is just as important, which is why motorized shades are essential for your Lancaster County home.
Designer Mary Jo Huyard of Savannah House has been providing residential window treatments in Lancaster for 18 years, and invited us in to talk shop. We were struck not only by her gorgeous new showroom on Chestnut Street, but her excitement about automation. “I want to be known as the shade integrator,” she begins, “It’s a huge deal down South, and I think Lancaster needs more of it.” She’s right! With a myriad of benefits ranging from climate control to strengthened security there is no more beautiful impact than automatic window treatments.
Spycom integrates these motorized shades with a home control system that can also be used with door locks, security systems, lighting, climate control, and home media systems.
